Lea Michele has been busy doing lots of interviews and promotion for her upcoming album, Places, which is dropping on April 28th. (Yay!) She’s released a few songs from the album to get her fans excited, and as an extra-special pre-Places treat, Lea went live on Facebook with her former costar Darren Criss (AKA Blaine) to answer questions and talk a little more about her musical inspirations and process, while bringing back some serious Glee nostalgia and feels in the process.

Not only are Lea and Darren friends, but they’re fans of each other’s work too. (#friendshipgoals, TBH.) Lea revealed that she listens to Darren’s music every day, especially when she’s hiking, and that Darren has heard a lot of her new material too.

And speaking of new material, the actress and singer will be traveling to both London and the U.S. to perform songs off Places, and she’s really excited about it. The album’s title is inspired by both the “Places!” call before a stage show and all of the places she’s been. In their Live segment, Lea said that she was inspired by her icons, including Barbra Streisand, Adele, and Celine Dion, but that she listens to everything, not just the divas. “I listen to Miranda Lambert every single day, I listen to Queen, I listen to everything all across the board,” she said.

Darren, of course, is busy filming American Crime Story with Glee creator Ryan Murphy, as well as promoting his music with his band Computer Games.

Lea’s fans asked some pretty great questions of the pair, including “What is one song that reminds you of each other?” Lea said she gets her best music recommendations from Darren, which is really adorable — don’t you always find the best new music from your friends? “Don’t Rain on my Parade” is the song that reminds Darren of Lea, considering it’s one of Rachel Berry’s signature songs, and “Falling Slowly” from the movie Once was Lea’s choice for Darren.

Of course, a lot of the Live viewers wanted the pair to take a trip back in time to their *Glee *days, and they did so happily. Lea actually revealed that she still watches it all the time, which is pretty cute. “I am Rachel Berry,” she said, laughing.

So if Glee was still on, which songs would they want to perform? Lea said Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song” was a shoe-in choice for Rachel Berry, and that the cast “definitely” would have done Lorde’s “Green Light” as an episode finale number. Darren would have opted for “I Can’t Feel My Face” by the Weeknd. Both Lea and Darren agreed that they wanted to do “To Make You Feel My Love” together, but Lea performs it as part of her solo stage show. Lea also shared that she wanted The Verve’s “Bittersweet Symphony” to be the last song ever performed on Glee, but it didn’t happen. Her last song on Glee was a song that Darren actually wrote for her, and it was an emotional moment for both of them (and us, TBH).

Facebook fans were obsessed with talking about Glee, which makes sense considering it was a massively popular phenomenon. When asked if they would play any other character on the show, Lea said she would’ve wanted to play Kurt, while Darren’s choice was the unforgettable Sue Sylvester. The viewers also asked Lea what her favorite song was to sing with Idina Menzel, and she revealed that she’s thinking about performing their duet “Poker Face” on her Places tour. “Maybe you can bug her to come sing with me on tour,” she told the viewers. (Can you imagine the Instagrams?)

Of course, we know you’re all wondering if Lea and Darren sang together during their Facebook Live segment. We didn’t get a Rachel and Blaine reprise in the moment, but they closed out the Live with a little surprise — they were going to record a song together as soon as the segment wrapped, and post it to their YouTube channels on April 12th. That’s almost as good as having Rachel and Blaine back again!
