If there were ever a place to have your very own official princess moment, it would be on the ultra-glamorous Cannes red carpet, stowed in history. So naturally, actress Aishwarya Rai chose that locale for a major Cinderella moment when she walked the red carpet Friday night.

She was dressed in an ice blue gown courtesy of Michael Cinco Couture, the style of which was reminiscent of the Disney princess whose life changed thanks to a shoe. Aishwarya looked positively ethereal in her dress, which was also reminiscent of Claire Danes's light-up Zac Posen ballgown from the 2016 Met Gala.

The Bollywood star paired her dress with a beauty look featuring a glossy blowout, sultry smoked-out eyes, and a rosy mauve lip that only added to her princess vibe. What's more, because of her effortless confidence on the red carpet, you'd think this was something she did on the daily. It turns out that's not the case: According to Just Jared Jr., she hasn't been on any red carpet since last year's Cannes Film Festival. Go big or go home, right?

Aishwarya also serves as further proof that the princess-style gown trend is here to stay — after all, we've seen so many of them already in 2017. Perhaps it was Emma Watson's award-winning role as Belle in the live-action version of Beauty and the Beast that has had Hollywood enamored with the fairy-tale style, but the proof has been on the red carpet: Recently, Lily Collins wore a princess gown in the most unlikely of venues: The goth-inspired carpet for the Met Gala 2017.
