Coming out as gay to your family can be very scary, and for some it can even be dangerous. But coming out to a younger sibling can be a whole different story, especially when they're so young they may not even fully understand what dating and love is. Since society overwhelmingly talks about love in heteronormative terms, young kids aren't always exposed to all the types of love that really exist. But, we've also seen just how accepting young kids can be, before they're told by society that certain types of love are more acceptable than others. When YouTuber Oliver Potter came out as gay to his 5-year-old brother, that's exactly what we saw.

Oliver sat down with his younger brother Alfie in a new video on his YouTube page, and asks him what he knows about love. His brother says he knows that men and women love each other and have babies, so Oliver asks what Alfie would think if he said he wanted to be in love with another man. Alfie's response? "Cool."

"We're going to talk about love," Oliver tells Alfie in the beginning of the video. "How do you think about love? Do you think boy, girl, marriage baby?"

"If you're a mum and you want to be in love with a dad, you get in love with them," Alfie says.

"Have you noticed I haven't got a girlfriend?" Oliver asks. "How would it make you feel if I married a man?"

"If you married a man it's going to be so cool," Alfie says. "I saw it in one movie and in one movie a man was in love with another man and then everyone was saying 'cool.' Cool cool cool. Love is love, love is love."

Honestly, no one could have summed it up better. Love IS love no matter the gender of those involved, and love is pretty cool. Alfie goes on to explain that there's no room for hate in the world, just love. He also confirms that he's totally ok with his older brother eventually marrying a man. Thats one wise kid.
