At long last, the day has arrived: Olivia Rodrigo's debut album, Sour, is out in the world, and just as expected, it's a pop masterpiece. Combining soul-crushing ballads with a little bit of punk rock and grunge, Olivia was able to show a complete snapshot of herself in a mere 30 minutes. And we're already ready for more new music.

Sour captures Olivia's process of recovery after heartbreak, bringing us along as she navigates the five stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. At just 18 years old, the young singer-songwriter has mastered what many can never achieve — ultimate vulnerability, weaved together by painfully beautiful lyrical genius.

As we spend the foreseeable future listening to Sour on repeat, we compiled the 29 most relatable lyrics from like album because, as is true with her idol Taylor Swift, Olivia knows how to make everyone feel seen and represented in her masterful words.

“brutal”

"And I'm so sick of seventeen / Where's my f*ckin' teenage dream?" — Me when my crush who I've never actually spoken to before didn't ask me to prom.

"I only have two real friends / And lately I'm a nervous wreck." — OK, this is a major post-vaccine mood.

"And I'm not cool, and I'm not smart / And I can't even parallel park." — LITERALLY ME THO.

"traitor”

"And ain't it funny how you ran to her / The second that we called it quits?" When my dog abandons me to go and sit with my mother.

“Guess you didn't cheat, but you're still a traitor.” — So painfully, beautifully stated.

“drivers license”

"And I know we weren't perfect / But I've never felt this way for no one." — Me to my Kindergarten girlfriend who I broke up with a day later.

“Guess you didn't mean what you wrote in that song about me / 'Cause you said forever, now I drive alone past your street.” — Five months since Olivia dropped this single and this lyric still stings.

“1 step forward, 3 steps back”

"Never doubted myself so much / Like am I pretty? Am I fun, boy?" — Me spiraling when I don't get a text back within 3 minutes.

"I kind of find it all exciting / Like which lover will I get today?" — My Hot Girl Summer mantra.

“deja vu”

"Watching reruns of Glee / Bein' annoying, singin’ in harmony," — Theatre kids post-opening night, taking over an entire Denny's restaurant at midnight.

"’Cause let's be honest, we kinda do sound the same." — Me to my friends when I try to sing like Ariana Grande in the car.

"And I bet that she knows Billy Joel / ’Cause you played her "Uptown Girl" / You're singin' it together / Now I bet you even tell her how you love her / In between the chorus and the verse." — Ok but for real, this is the best part of the song IMO.

“good 4 u”

"I've lost my mind, I've spent the night / Cryin' on the floor of my bathroom." — IDK, sounds like a typical Tuesday night for me, Olivia.

"Well, screw that, and screw you, You will never have to hurt the way you know that I do." — SING IT, OLIVIA.

“Maybe I'm too emotional.” — Me when I'm absolutely being too emotional.

"Well, good for you, I guess you moved on really easily." — When my bestie doesn't like my Instagram photo, but the app tells me they were active seven minutes ago.

“enough for you”

"And you always say I'm never satisfied / But I don't think that's true / 'Cause all I ever wanted was to be enough." — OK but don't tell me this isn't literally Angelica's entire storyline from Hamilton summarized in three lines.

“Happier”

"I'm selfish, I know, I can't let you go." — Me to my dog.

"So find someone great, but don't find no one better / I hope you're happy, but don't be happier." — This is perhaps my favorite lyric on the whole album. Wow.

"And now I'm pickin' her apart." — Me to the blackheads on my nose that my dermatologist literally told me to leave alone.

“jealousy, jealousy”

"I kinda wanna throw my phone across the room." — When I accidentally like my crush's photo from 2014.

"And I can't let it go." — Elsa, somewhere, probably.

"I wanna be you so bad, and I don't even know you." — Me to literally 75% of the people I follow on Instagram.

“favorite crime”

"I was your willing accomplice, honey." — My best friend and I skipping class to go have lunch at Panera and be the bougie housewives we aspired to become for a day.

"One heart broke, four hands bloody." — Pretty much the plot of Pretty Little Liars right here.

"It's bittersweet to think about the damage that we'd do / Yeah, everything we broke and all the trouble that we made." — Thinking back to when I started a Gossip Girl account in high school to expose my haters, wondering if it's time for a relaunch.

“hope ur ok”

"Don't know if I'll see you again someday / But if you're out there, I hope that you're okay." — To the girl who once opened the door for me when I was 20 feet away and said, "Don't worry, you don't have to rush." Truly a queen, hope you're thriving in kindness, bby.

"Does she know how proud I am she was created? / With the courage to unlearn all of their hatred?" — BRB, crying.

"But, God, I hope that you're happier today / 'Cause I love you / And I hope that you're okay." — And with that, Olivia accomplished what we all expected: A perfect, no-skip album.
