After watching the whole Stranger Things cast run around Hawkins, Indiana, and the Upside Down in '80s-era jeans and tees for two seasons, it can still come as a shock when they dress all the way up for a fancy event. On Monday night, for example, the squad proved just how far Los Angeles is from Hawkins when they walked the red carpet at the 2018 Emmy Awards in a wide array of impeccably put-together designer suits and gowns.

Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and Noah Schnapp walked the carpet as a tight-knit trio. Gaten wore a mustard-yellow suede tuxedo jacket over his white shirt, black bowtie, and black pants, all by Dolce & Gabbana, and completed the look with classic black high-top sneakers. Earlier in the day, Gaten told the Today show that the shoes would be printed with the logo of CCD Smiles, a nonprofit organization that supports kids with cleidocranial dysplasia, a rare genetic disorder that Gaten himself was born with. Caleb, meanwhile, sported an all-white Louis Vuitton tux and spotless white pointy-toed, lace-up shoes. Noah also donned a white jacket and pants, both custom Fendi, which he wore over a black shirt, brown tie, and simple lace-up black shoes.

Both Finn Wolfhard and Charlie Heaton opted for more traditional tuxedos. They both stuck to the typical black jacket, pants, bowtie, and dress shoes, paired with crisp white button-down shirts.

Next up was Millie Bobby Brown, who looked like a princess in a pale-pink off-the-shoulder ballgown dotted with delicate white roses. She wore her shoulder-length hair in a simple, middle-parted style and rounded out the fairy tale–esque look with a pair of matching light-pink pointy-toed pumps.

Season two newcomer Sadie Sink's ensemble was also gorgeously flowery. She wore a creamy white high-low dress with 3D white flowers covering the shoulders, which she paired with simple black ankle-strap heels. She wore her hair middle-parted and sleekly pulled back at the nape of her neck, and added a pop of color to the outfit with a swipe of bright-red lipstick.

Ever the scene-stealer, Natalia Dyer stunned in a metallic gold gown. The curve-hugging dress had a simple tank top–style bodice and a skirt that puddled around her feet and was covered in elaborate, intricate beading and sequins.

Rounding out the squad, Joe Keery wore a royal-blue tuxedo jacket and matching pants cropped right at the ankle, showing off his stylish black loafers. As striking as his suit was, however, perhaps the stand-out bit of his entire look was his hair, which was styled in a gravity-defying 'do that gave off strong Steve Harrington vibes.
