Celine Dookhran, a young Muslim woman in Britain, was reportedly kidnapped, raped, and murdered because her boyfriend came from a different background, prosecutors in the case believe.

On Wednesday, the The Independent reported that 20-year-old Dookhran's body was found in southwest London hours after she and an unidentified woman were reported missing. Law enforcement officials announced that Dookhran had been raped and murdered and that they'd already arrested two men for the incident, 33-year-old Mujahid Hussain, also known as Mujahid Arshid, and 28-year-old Vincent Tappu. Hussain was reportedly charged with the rape, murder, and kidnapping of Dookhran, while Tappu was charged for her kidnapping. Hussain was also charged with the rape, kidnapping, and attempted murder of a second unidentified woman, while Tappu was charged for her kidnapping, according to the Evening Standard.

Prosecutors are still piecing together what happened, but they reportedly allege that Hussain raped and murdered Dookhran as an "honor killing" for having an Arab Muslim boyfriend, the Independent reports, while she was from an Indian Muslim background. They have not released information about how Hussain had this information or whether he was connected to Dookhran initially.

Dookhran's family released a statement with the Metropolitan Police shortly after she was identified by law enforcement, according to the Evening Standard. "Celine Dookhran was an amazingly talented and loving daughter who brought happiness, joy and laughter to her family and friends," it read. "We are proud of Celine for everything she had achieved and were looking forward to seeing a loving, caring and innocent young girl fulfill her potential in life and carry on making us proud."

The Independent reported that the trial for the case is set for Jan. 17, 2018. The two men didn't enter a plea during their initial preliminary hearings.
