NCT’s Jeno just proved the "no shirt" rule doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t get into fancy parties.

The singer, known primarily as a member of the K-Pop giant’s subgroup NCT Dream, attended Vogue World on September 12 as part of his weekend stint representing designer Peter Do at NYFW. The global event, which was in celebration of Vogue's 130th anniversary, involved a live runway show of some of the most coveted looks of the Fall 2022 collections.

While a handful of celebs made their way to L.A. to attend the Emmys that night, Jeno joined the likes of Doja Cat, Lil Nas X, and Sabrina Carpenter on the front row on the other side of the country and made sure to immortalize his 'fit (pre-outing) on the 'gram.

Once he arrived in the Meat Packing District, Jeno turned heads at the event with a bold look that’s set to debut at the Do’s highly anticipated SS2023 collection, which, as the Financial Times noted, will feature both men’s and unisex designs for the first time.

Jeno sported a sleek black tux with satin lapels and pockets, and sky-high platform boots that sent the already-towering star heads and shoulders above others in attendance. The apex of the look, of course, came from Jeno deciding to go sans undershirt, proving you can still rock a warm suit while temperatures continue to soar.

Jeno, who was the only Asian male artist in attendance at the Vogue World event, will also make history again today, September 13, as he becomes the first K-Pop star to open a New York Fashion Week runway show, likely donning another daring look from Peter Do’s collection.

“It was a natural choice to have Jeno open the show," Do said in a press release earlier this week sent by Jeno’s record label SM Entertainment. "Jeno embodies the Peter Do man — multifaceted, confident, and a trailblazer. I have so much respect for these artists because there is so much time put into their craft that people simply don’t see”.

Jeno’s role in the show is part of a larger collaboration between Peter Do and SM Entertainment, which already saw him dress Jeno’s fellow NCT member Johnny at the 2022 Met Gala in May. Do shared in the press release that he feels an affinity with artists from the K-Pop world because of the dedication they apply to their work. “Few realize the intensity of what is happening behind the scenes to achieve the end product”, he said, adding that “it’s very similar to fashion so I identify with that process very much. As a brand forging its own path in the industry, we are proud to partner with the leading global player in K-pop to help write the future of fashion.”

Jeno won’t be the only SM star taking to the runway for Peter Do today, as new SM Rookies (the label’s pre-debut training team) Shohei and Eunseok will also walk the catwalk. Additionally, Red Velvet’s Seulgi, who's set to have her solo debut next month, will sit front row. (Toto, I have a feeling we aren't in Kwangya anymore!)
