Musicians Take to Twitter to Support Ariana Grande and Manchester Following Concert Explosion

On Monday night (May 22), tragedy struck after an explosion occured at the end of an Ariana Grande concert at Manchester Arena in North West England. As of writing, there are 19 confirmed dead and around 50 others are injured, according to the Greater Manchester Police's chief constable, Ian Hopkins. The explosion is currently being treated as a terrorist incident.

A number of Manchester residents and business have begun offering resources for those affected by the explosion. Taxi companies are giving free rides and hotels, including Holiday Inn (44 0161 836 9600) and Premier Inn (44 0871 527 8744), have begun taking in young children and teens who have been separated from their guardians during the incident. An emergency number has also been set up for those worried about loved ones: 44 0161 856 9400.

While the story is still developing, many were quick to rally behind those hurt in the explosion and Manchester at large on social media. A number of celebs have used their large platforms to offer support to those hurting during this tragedy.

Artist Bia, who was part of the European leg of Ariana's tour, tweeted, "My heart is broken 😓🙏🏾 ... Praying for everyone tonight please gets home safe 🙏🏾😢.

Lorde also shared, "every musician feels sick & responsible tonight — shows should be safe for you. truly a worst nightmare. sending love to manchester & ari." Her tweet encapsulates what many are feeling during this extremely difficult time, when such a horrific event could happen at a place and during an experience that should make attendees feel secure.
