Finals are definitely a stressful time. As the school year wraps up, summer is so close but finals can feel like a huge hurdle standing between you and a much needed school break. And while trying your best in school is absolutely important, it can feel like finals time can make or break us. But Katherine Langford wants you to know that's not actually true.

The 13 Reasons Why star took to Instagram to post a much-needed reminder that, while you should study and try to do well on your finals, it's important to not let stress overwhelm you. If stress over finals is getting to you, Katherine wants you to remember that one bad grade won't define your entire future.

"Shout out to everyone doing exams at the moment. I know there may be a heap of pressure right now, so just a friendly reminder that your marks DO NOT define you. Yes, education is important. And yes, you want to do your best," she wrote. "But at the end of the day, your wellbeing is the most important thing and there are a million pathways to get you where you want to go."

This is so true. School is important, and education can help you achieve your future goals. But, stressing out over your exams is not helpful, and it can actually be harmful. According to the Mayo Clinic, chronic stress can lead to worsened anxiety, lack of motivation, depression, over- or under-eating, alcohol or drug use, and more. And even though it can be harmful, stress is super common. The Anxiety and Depression Association of America found 30% of college students report stress had negatively affected their academic performance, and 85% felt overwhelmed by everything they had to do in the last year. Instead of letting stress overwhelm you, Katherine recommends putting everything in perspective.
