Niall Horan Asked About Selena Gomez and His Least Favorite One Direction Member on James Corden

What he did to get out of answering is disgusting.

Niall Horan fell victim to James Corden’s devious new Late Late Show game last night when he was forced to drink a chunky salmon smoothie to avoid revealing his least favorite One Direction member. Yes, you read that right: a chunky salmon smoothie. Man, the things we do to avoid heartbreak.

True to his good guy nature, Niall stayed loyal to his former band mates and chose to down the smoothie instead of dishing dirt.

“It’s not so much the taste as the texture,” he said after the deed was done. “It’s like having a salmon yogurt.”

Corden’s new game (appropriately named “Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts”) pits celeb teams of two against each other to answer personal questions or eat stomach-retching foods. Niall was teamed up with actress Isla Fisher against James Corden and actor Ewan McGregor, and things did not start out well for #TeamNisla.

Niall’s non-answer meant that his partner Isla also had to drink a salmon smoothie, but he did weigh "taking the Daily Mail headline" just to help her out. Fortunately, she was a supportive teammate, and she even put a bib on Niall to help make the decision of whether or not to answer Corden’s question easier.

“I think you should drink,” she said. “I’m not your publicist, but I don’t think you should answer.”

But the really nerve-wracking question came up later, when he was asked about who he'd rather spend the last night on Earth with, given the choice of Selena Gomez or Ellie Goulding. Why them? James began his question with "Niall, you've dated both Selena Gomez and Ellie Goulding..." and Niall did not correct him (for her part, Selena denied that they dated when asked back when rumors were swirling). He chose Ellie for the reason that she really likes the TV series Planet Earth, and deigned to mention Selena's name at all (ever a gentleman) but still, was that a confirmation that they did, in fact, date? Maybe, but silence speaks volumes.
