BTS and their fans have a lot to celebrate — first and foremost, their hit song “Butter” returned to no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 following their “Butter” remix collab with Megan Thee Stallion. One way to celebrate? A killer performance video featuring iconic subunit 3J (J-Hope, Jimin, and Jungkook).

BTS uploaded the special performance video on September 8, and it opens with the septet dancing to the original version of the song. It then cuts to J-Hope, Jimin and Jungkook as the subunit take center stage in all-white outfits from Alexander Wang, Off-White, Rhude, and more. The three members then break out powerful choreography to Megan Thee Stallion’s verse on the song — we even see 3J stick their tongues out in homage to Megan’s signature “ahhh.”

J-Hope confirmed on the platform Weverse that they learned the routine the day of Jungkook’s birthday Vlive, which explains J-Hope’s spoiler-filled dance moment. It was a reunion of sorts, since J-Hope, Jimin, and Jungkook haven’t performed as a dancing subunit since the BTS HOME PATY practice in 2017. Naturally, ARMY took to Twitter to share in their joy at the return of 3J.

The performance video comes fresh off the song’s return to no. 1, thanks to the recent remix featuring Megan Thee Stallion. “Butter” has now been no. 1 for 10 weeks, and Billboard also declared it the “song of the summer.” The song’s continued summer success achieves the goal leader RM manifested at the “Butter” press conference earlier this year: “I hope it will be loved as a summer song representing 2021.”
