Selena Gomez might be kicking it around New York City lately, filming for Woody Allen’s newest movie, but she also found time to fly out to Los Angeles to visit boyfriend The Weeknd. On Friday night, the pair were spotted in matching hoodies that, though the attempt was to disguise themselves from the crowds, seemed to fail enormously, if the social media fanfare that followed was any indication.

The pair headed to Los Angeles's Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights on a date night wearing matching black hoodies tied tight around their heads. Perhaps they were also trying to get into the pre-Halloween spirit a little bit — in which case, it looked as though the festive couple certainly had a good time with their friends. Not only were Selena and The Weeknd spotted by fans as they entered the theater, but Selena also appeared on friend Raquelle Stevens's Instagram story earlier that evening, suiting up, so her most dedicated followers knew what to look for.

Whether or not Selena Gomez and The Weeknd failed at this most simple disguise, it definitely locks them in as the most fun-loving and normal celebrity couple we’ve seen in a long time. Though it does make us wonder: As Halloween approaches, will we be granted the gift of some killer coordinated costumes from the pair as well?
